The OnePlus 6T is the smartphone which everyone is waiting for, and the device is around the corner, we can expect the unveiling of the smartphone anytime now. The device is coming with the latest in-display fingerprint scanner technology, and the company already confirmed this. Well, today the CEO and founder of OnePlus teases the technology and says how it came to the OnePlus 6T.
Pete Lau, OnePlus CEO and founder- says (on OnePlus Forum) that the company was trying to achieve this technology from over a year now and the company has given the name of the technology as ‘Screen Unlock‘. That said, the Screen Unlock uses an optical fingerprint module under the display and that can scan user’s finger and this is the same setup which Vivo used in the Vivo NEX smartphone. However, OnePlus uses software algorithms which can “recognize user’s fingerprint with higher accuracy through extended use.”
“In combining the latest hardware with self-learning software algorithms that intelligently preload your fingerprint information, we have created an incredibly fast in-display unlock experience,” wrote Lau.
Furthermore, the Screen Lock also has the Qualcomm’s “Trust Zone” technology to store the user’s fingerprint information securely via the Snapdragon 845 chip, which powers up the upcoming OnePlus 6T. The result, Lau says, is “unmatched speed and convenience.”
Lau also said that the company tried to bring this technology on the OnePlus 5T, which was unveiled in last year, but failed to do so simply because the tech needed improvements and that’s why the company implemented the Face Unlock to the OnePlus 5T.
Well, it seems that we are going to witness the most powerful in-display fingerprint Smartphone and if you are unaware about the OnePlus 6T then you read all the available information on our dedicated page.
