Last year Apple introduced the MagSafe magnetic tech for their latest iPhones. And last month Realme adopted this and bought their MagDart. These Mags can be attached at the back of compatible smartphone and functions tasks like charging and wallets, and can be handy at times. Today Realme’s parent brand OPPO also unveiled their take on Mags at China International Smart Industry Expo 2021, with MagVOOC.
A total of three MagVOOC products are announced in the event. These are MagVOOC Ultra-thin portable magnetic wireless charger, magnetic wireless power bank, and vertical magnetic wireless charger stand. The ultra-thin wireless charger has split-design technology which separates transmitter coil and main board. This will keep the heat away from phone and won’t affect the charging speed. It’s different than Realme’s MagDart 15W wireless chargers, but the tech is somehow similar to OPPO and all other BBK brand’s wired charging technology.

Next in line is MagVOOC wireless power bank. OPPO claims that this tech is similar to any wired power bank. It can charge the smartphone wirelessly at up to 20W, and wired smartphones up to just 10W. It can fuel-up a 4,500mAh battery in 2 hours. Lastly, the wireless charger stand will also charge the device wirelessly through magnet, but here the phone will be in standing position just like Pixel Stand and OnePlus Wireless Charger.
As of now we don’t know when OPPO will make these MagVOOCs available, but according to a leakster OPPO is not planning to mass produce these rigth now. What are your thoughts on this MagVOOC Magnetic tech? Let us know in the comment section below.
