After unveiling the Redmi Go early this year, today the smartphone brand has launched the device in India as promised earlier. The Redmi Go is the first Android Go powered smartphone of the Xiaomi and its sub-brand. If you are unaware about the Android Go Operating System then it is specially designed for the low-end devices to run smoothly.
Specifications of Redmi Go
The smartphone sports a 5 inch HD IPS LCD display with 1280 x 720 resolution and older 16:9 aspect ratio. It has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 quad core processor clocked at 1.4Ghz with Adreno 308 GPU. It has 1GB of RAM and 8 GB internal storage option with expandable storage. For an Android Go device, 1GB RAM is enough.
Coming to the camera, the Redmi Go has 8MP Rear Camera with f/2.0 lens, 1.12mm micron pixel, and supports full HD video recording, real-time filters, and smart scene detection, and LED flash. On the front, there is a 5MP Camera with an f/2.2 lens.
It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) with all Android Go apps within. It packs a 3,000 mAh battery with no fast charging support, but that’s not at all a negative point for an Android Go device. For connectivity, it has 4G, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and Micro USB 2.0 port.
Pricing and availability of Redmi Go
The smartphone is priced at ₹4,499 and it will be available from March 22 via Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Home Stores from 12 p.m. IST onwards.
