We all know that Xiaomi is going to unveil the Redmi Note 5 anytime soon this year. Over the past few months, many rumors are floating over the internet about the device. Some famous rumors of this device are 18:9 display ratio, Dual Camera Setup, and Snapdragon 660 processor. In today’s leak, we have got something interesting about the 3rd point i.e. processor. So let’s have a look at this leak.
This Redmi Note 5 is spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench. According to Geekbench this Redmi Note 5 will have 3GB of RAM. Maybe it’s a lower end variant, as even the Redmi Note 4 has 4GB RAM variant. It runs on Android 7.1.2 nougat out of the box, mostly with MIUI on top. Regarding processor, strangely it has Qualcomm’s MSM8952 processor, which is the older Snapdragon 617 processor. This processor was one of the most unstable processor by Qualcomm, due to it’s heating and optimisation issues. But it clearly seems like an issue with Geekbench, as the single core score of Redmi Note 5 is much higher than all other smartphones having Snapdragon 617 processor. Maybe Geekbench got an error in recognising the model number of processors.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. Well, consider this leak truly fake, as Xiaomi isn’t that fool to put Snapdragon 617 processor in. So be assured that this Redmi Note 5 will have Snapdragon 630 or 660 processor. Stay tuned with us for more information.
