According to the reliable tipster, Digital Chat Station, Qualcomm will be launching a new processor dubbed the SM8845 chip. And it is not the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (that’s the SM8850) or even the Snapdragon 8s Gen 5. However, that coming processor will be a new offering of the company.
This particular chipset might be dubbed the Snapdraogn 8 Plus mobile processor and the mobile processor will be offering a more affordable alternative to Qualcomm’s next-gen flagship, Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 flagship chipset.
It is also reported that the upcoming SM8845 processor will feature a fully custom, self-developed core design built and it will be entirely around large cores.
The upcoming processor might come with TSMC’s N3P process as well. It is also suggested that the popular smartphone brands including Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus are already working on devices powered by the SM8845. The upcoming Snapdragon 8 Plus mobile processor is expected to be announced in Q4 2025.
