Last week the tech giant the Microsoft rolled out the Windows 10 April 2018 update, the operating system filled with features and one of them is the Timeline. Well, now during the build Developer Conference Microsoft announced that the Timeline will support the Microsoft Launcher application on the Android platform.
What is Timeline
The Timeline is the new major feature in the latest Windows 10 April 2018 update. It actually replaces the old ‘Task View’ button and the new Timeline will allow the user to see what apps are running and also activities you have used on the PC in the last 30 days of time period. And it will sync all the activities and apps across multiple PC’s, if you using a laptop for a document then you can easily pick up the same thing on a different PC which you already signed-in with your account.
Well, with the announcement which made the company today, smartphones will now support the Timeline and you can able to edit a document on your PC through an Android smartphone and it will be powered by the Timeline feature.
The Microsoft launcher will help users to find supported applications in the Play Store and the developers also need to update the applications to support the new Timeline.
Moreover, the Microsoft Launcher is getting a new “Your Phone” feature, which will allow a user to respond to his/her phone’s text messages and also to share photos from their PC. The feature will also allow to see and respond to the user’s phone’s notifications from PC, though Microsoft said the name of the feature is not fixed and it may change.
Having said that, the company hasn’t mentioned the timeline for the new update of Microsoft Launcher. But you can stay tuned with us, we will bring the latest information about the same in coming days.
