In last year, the developers of the world’s most favorite instant messaging application WhatsApp started to test group voice and video calls in the beta version of the application. Well, now it seems that the group video calls feature is to make its way to the messaging application. As the social networking giant Facebook has announced this at the ongoing Facebook’s F8 conference.
Yeah, it’s true the group video calls are coming to the WhatsApp but the company hasn’t mentioned about the timeline of the feature, but they said that users will get it in the months ahead. The company also didn’t say any other information about the group video calls such as how many members can able to connect at the same time, but going through the previews, it seems that maximum of four people can able to connect in a group video call at a time.
Moreover, the company has confirmed that the stickers are coming to the WhatsApp. Well, we updated a few days ago that the developers are testing such kind of feature. And it will be developed by the WhatsApp and the third-parties. Apart from this, Facebook has also revealed that WhatsApp is now used by more than 450 million active users on the daily basis with more than 2 billion minutes of voice and video calls are made on the platform every day.
So with the introduction of group video calls, the demand for WhatsApp video call will definitely gonna increase. As it will eliminate the use of different video calling applications for the group video calls purpose, and I hope that this feature will roll out very soon.
