The CEO of Tesla has introduced another subscription model for the owners of Tesla self driving models. The top most executive has officially announced on X that the company will stop selling Full Self-Driving (FSD) as a one-time purchase option and the new rule will be implemented after February 14 this year.
So after February 14, FSD will be available only as a monthly subscription and that means you need to make monthly payment. The new rule is being implemented in the United States. Users can still buy FSD outright for $8,000 or subscribe for $99 per month. Once the deadline passes, the company will be removing the upfront purchase option.
In China, FSD currently costs 64,000 yuan as a one-time purchase, but the company did not launch the subscription option. So what are your thoughts about the new strategy of the company?
