Vivo has made the new OriginOS official to replace the existing UI, FuntoucOS. According to the company the new skin has been made from scratch and looks strikingly different than the previous iterations. Let us take a look at some of the new features the new OS brings to the table.
Vivo has revamped the UI aiming to offer a better experience. From wallpapers in the home screen to pictures on the game board, has been modified. The home screen gets a new desktop grid system called the Huarong Grid. This enables the users to see the fluidity of every element in the home screen. In addition, you can create a variety of layout combinations from the ground up.
The wallpaper has now become more dynamic and the company calls it performance wallpaper. For example, the design team has compressed the flower blooming sequence and made a live wallpaper out of it. The message notification introduces atomic notification, which can display important information at the right time. In this way, the notifications will not obstruct your activities but will make sure you take note of them as well.
The UI gets a new gesture navigation system which is expected to be intuitive than the previous version. It comes with up to 26 combinations to cover all of the actions you will need to perform. It brings an atomic component library from which the user can drag and drop applications to create small multi-tasking windows of them to improve the ease of use and speed. Its offered in up to 90 colour cards to show the type of weather your location currently has.
The new super card pack shows customisable payment interface even if the phone is locked or away from the home screen with a single swipe. The weather widget has received an overhaul and it now displays the information like the current temperature in an elegant manner.
The company claims the OriginOS is smoother, more convenient and secure. The new Multi-Turbo 5.0 brings memory fusion, process optimization, and application preloading to load the app faster and thus reduce waiting times. The memory has also received optimisation via better algorithms. Like few other UIs, it can allocate idle ROM can act as RAM to keep heavy applications in memory for a long time, improve the app loading times and offer faster app multitasking. Other optimisations to improve performance include, faster application preloading. It helps the system to pre-determine apps that are about to be opened and pre-load it in memory to run it as soon as the user clicks on the app icon. According to the company, this reduces the app opening times by up to 40%.
Finally, we have improvements in the system apps like photos and parallel world. As the update begins to roll out to actual devices expect more coverage of the same. Stay tuned to learn more about the OriginOS.
