The developers of world’s most favorite instant messaging application WhatsApp always do test new features via its beta channel. Recently, we updated that WhatsApp is testing a new feature for group, well, now the beta version of WhatsApp updated and brings many new features to the Android platform and WhatsApp web.
WhatsApp has started testing the new feature like private replies in group chat and picture-in-picture mode in beta version 0.2.7315 of WhatsApp for Web as well as for the Desktop. And the beta version 2.17.437, WhatsApp is testing new invite link, tap to unblock and shake to report in Android. So, let’s find out more details of the new features.
Private Replies in Group Chat
With this feature now we will get a new option called ‘Reply privately’, and the new option will appear below the Reply option. And this feature will allow you to send a message directly to the group member in the private chat.
Picture-in-Picture (PiP) Mode
The developers of the messenger already rolled out support for the picture-in-picture video calling for its Android app. But now with the beta update for WhatsApp Web and Desktop, you can able to view videos in a PiP mode and continue to chat with your dear and near ones.
Tap to Unblock
Now unblocking someone on WhatsApp has become much more easier and quicker for the users of Android. With the latest beta update, you can now unblock with a long-press on that contact and tap on ‘Unblock’.
New Invite Link
The Android app of WhatsApp, group admins can already invite anyone to join the group via an invite link. However, other members of the group cannot get the link to invite. But, with the latest beta, group members can also send invite links to a person.
Shake to report
With the latest beta of WhatsApp for Android, you can report problem with a shake. Shaking your device will open the ‘Contact Us’ page from where you can report the problem to WhatsApp.
So, if you are a beta tester of the WhatsApp then update the app and enjoy the new features on your device. Right now, there is no information about the official rollout of these new features.
