Over the past few months, we got some leaks & quite a bit rumours of Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 smartphone, which is supposed to be the successor of one of the best seller Redmi Note 4. Redmi Note 5 is supposed to be the first Redmi Note device having the modern 18:9 aspect ratio. Seems like this is not going to happen, because Xiaomi might not make the next Redmi ‘Note’ device.
According to a Super Moderator on MIUI forum, recently launched Redmi 5 Plus is the biggest Redmi device of 2018 which means that this Redmi 5 Plus is the successor of Redmi Note 4. Though the user also said ‘as of this moment’ which clears that even he is also not sure. Maybe this phone is called as Redmi 5 Plus only in China, globally this phone will launch with the name ‘Redmi Note 5’.
But if this statement will become true, then Xiaomi will really disappoint to those people who are waiting for the upgraded successor instead of buying Redmi Note 4. That’s because the new thing in Redmi 5 Plus is 5.99” Full HD+ display with modern 18:9 aspect ratio and very slightly improved camera, apart from these two things, nothing is new. Even the processor used here is also same, Snapdragon 625. In Redmi Note 3 Xiaomi used Snapdragon 650 processor, then in Redmi Note 4 they used Snapdragon 625 which is a slight downgrade from Snapdragon 650 in terms of raw performance. So if Xiaomi will launch this phone globally with Snapdragon 625 processor, then it will be surely a big disappointment from a company like Xiaomi, who is known for giving best specs for affordable price.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. What are your thoughts if this statement will become true? Do let us know in the comments below. Also stay tuned with us for more information.
