The Government of India has made mandatory to link Aadhaar card of a citizen and that force his or her to link mobile number and it also becomes mandatory for many other things in the country. And the deadline was set till December 15 of last year, but it was extended till March 31st, 2018. However, then the Honourable Supreme Court extended it again and today Supreme Court has announced the final verdict of the Aadhaar.
The supreme court today delivered its judgment about the Aadhaar linking and now it is no longer need to have an Aadhaar card for a new SIM card and also there is no longer mandatory to link his or her mobile number with the Aadhaar card.
That’s not all, the Supreme Court also said that the private companies can neither ask for the Aadhaar, and they can’t access the Aadhaar data of the users. Moreover, the Supreme Court also asked the telecom companies to delete the Aadhaar data of their customers from their databases. Furthermore, it also no longer have to link with the bank account, and also no need the document to open an account, and it is also not mandatory required for CBSE, NEET, and UGC examinations. However, linking Aadhaar with PAN is mandatory for filing income tax returns.
Well, this is really a great judgment by the Honourable Supreme Court. And I personally love this as every citizen have his/her privacy. Don’t forget to share your thoughts about the judgment in the comments section below!
