The Chinese brand Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched two smartphones – Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max. Well, both the devices are coming with decent specification and looks. So, without wasting any time let’s dive into the article to check out the specification, pricing, and availability details of both the newly unveiled devices.
Honor 8X
It is the successor of last year’s Honor 7X, and being a successor it is coming with a lot of improvements. The device sports 6.5 inch full HD+ display and it has 2.5D curved glass atop, along with an 18:5:9 aspect ratio and has 2340 X 1080 pixels resolution. Furthermore, the device has a notch on the top of the display and it has 91% screen-to-body ratio. The device is powered by 2.2 GHz octa-core Kirin 710 processor and coupled with 4 GB and 6 GB of RAM. It also comes with the GPU Turbo and 4D Gaming for an amazing gaming experience. In terms of storage, the smartphone will be available in three variants – 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, and, 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. Well, if you want more, then you can expand the storage via MicroSD card.
Moving to the camera department, the Honor 8X features a dual camera setup and that is in the combination of 20 megapixel (f/1.8) + 2 megapixel with AI Portrait Mode, HDR, AI Scene Recognition, 480 FPS Slow-Motion Video Recording and LED flash. The smartphone also has a 16 megapixel front shooter with f/2.0 aperture and AI Beauty Mode. Moreover, the device also supports the AR Stickers and the fingerprint scanner.
Regarding the connectivity, the smartphone supports 4G VoLTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and micro USB. The device runs on Android Oreo 8.1 which is based on EMUI 8.2, and the complete package is backed on 3,750 mAh battery with 10W (5V/2A) charging.
Speaking about the pricing and availability, the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant is priced at ¥1399 (approx. ₹14,724), the 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage has the price tag ¥1599 (approx. ₹16,834), and the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant will cost ¥1899 (approx. ₹19,993). The device will be available in China from September 11 and there is no word about the availability of the device in other parts of the world.
Honor 8X Max
As the name suggests, the Honor 8X Max is the bigger variant of the Honor 8X. The device sports a massive 7.12 inch full HD+ display and it has 2.5D curved glass atop, and has 2244 X 1080 pixels resolution. Furthermore, the device has a Waterdrop notch on the top of the display. The device is powered by Snapdragon 636 processor and paired with 4 GB. In terms of storage, the device will be available in 64 GB and 128 GB storage. Well, if you want more, then you can expand the storage via MicroSD card.
The device has a dual camera at back and that’s in the combination of 16 megapixel (f/2.0) + 2 megapixel (f/2.4) with PDAF and LED flash, along with an 8 megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. Moreover, the camera also has AI-based features. The device also has the fingerprint scanner for the maximum layer of security.
Regarding the connectivity, the smartphone supports 4G VoLTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB OTG, and micro USB. The device runs on Android Oreo 8.1 which is based on EMUI 8.2, and it is backed on 5,000 mAh battery with 18W (9V/2A) charging.
Speaking about the pricing and availability, the 64 GB storage variant has the price tag ¥1499 (approx. ₹15,780), and the 128 GB storage variant will cost ¥1799 (approx. ₹18,940). The device will be available in China and there is no word about the availability of the device in other parts of the world.
