Last month Reliance Industries announced their high speed broadband service named as JioFiber. This step by Reliance is supposed to be a game changer in broadband industry. But at that time the plan details weren’t announced. So this is a question mark that will JioFiber be able to turn the tables in broadband market or not? As promised they announced the details of all plans today, and we finally get an answer to this question being around from last month. So let’s dig into this.
These plans are high speed internet plans, and as expected the speed goes up to 1GBps in top most plans. Speaking about the base plan, it’s priced at ₹699 per month and offers 100mbps speed. Below is the full chart of JioFiber Plans:
- Bronze: ₹699 – 100mbps – 100+50GB FUP
- Silver: ₹849 – 100mbps – 200+200GB FUP
- Gold: ₹1,299 – 250mbps – 500+250GB FUP
- Diamond: ₹2,499 – 500mbps – 1250+250GB FUP
- Platinum: ₹3,999 – 1Gbps – 2500GB FUP

Along with this Jio will offer a lot of perks like free landline calling all over India, TV video calling/conference, zero latency gaming, home networking and up to 5 device security by Norton. Not only that, Platinum and Titanium plan users will also get free VR experience and First Day First Show movies.
There are special annual plans available which includes more data and additional freebies like 4K set-top-box, Jio Home Gateway, and LED TV as well. The sizes of LED TV are 24 inch, 32 inch and 43 inch. Below are the details of Jio Annual Plans :
- Gold: ₹31,176 – 250mbps – 12TB FUP – 24” HD TV
- Diamond: ₹29,988 – 500mbps – 15TB FUP – 24” HD TV
- Platinum: ₹47,988 – 1Gbps – 30TB FUP – 32” HD TV
- Titanium: ₹1,01,988 – 1Gbps – 60TB FUP – 43” 4K TV
During installation Jio will take ₹1,000 for installation (non-refundable) and ₹1,500 for security deposit of their equipment (refundable). Also all these plans are excluding GST, which means additional 18% GST will be added on these plans. The additional data offer will be applicable for 6 months, afterwards only decided data will be provided.
So these are the plans, offers, and conditions of JioFiber. Personally I am excited for JioFiber because in my city hardly any provider gives even 100Mbps speed. But talking about metro cities like Mumbai and Bangalore, these plans are not much value because there are broadband providers who gives not same but almost similar speeds and data at similar price. Also I find the annual subscription with TV not so worthy.
Only time will tell us how well JioFiber will perform in the market, in terms of customers, speed stability, etc. What are your views on these plans? Let us know in the comment section below. Also stay tuned with us for more information.
