The much awaited Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 even is just a couple of hours away from the reality, and it today the Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi has unveiled its new device called Mi Mix 3 5G at the pre-MWC conference in Barcelona. The new Xiaomi’s smartphone is one of the world’s first commercially available 5G device, and the device is powered by the latest and greatest Snapdragon 855 chipset, along with Snapdragon X50 5G modem. Specification of Mi Mix 3 5G
The newly unveiled smartphone is following the same setup of the Mi Mix 3 which was unveiled in the Chinese market in October last year. That means apart from the new chipset and support for the 5G, the new device has the same hardware and setup to the original Mi Mix 3.
Having said that, the Chinese brand has shown a demo of a 5G video call which was powered by Orange at its conference.
Speaking about the Mi Mix 3 5G, it sports 6.4 Full HD+ OLED display with 2340 X 1080 pixels resolution along with 19:5:9 aspect ratio and has a 93.4% screen to body ratio. The device is powered by the latest and greatest Snapdragon 855 processor and paired with Snapdragon X50 5G modem.
The Mi Mix 3 5G rocks a dual camera set up at the back and that is in the combination of two 12 megapixel camera sensors along with a dual front facing camera that is in the combination of 24 megapixel + 2 megapixel and the cameras have the slider mechanism, the front camera support AI selfie video bokeh.
The Mi Mix 3 5G also has the fingerprint scanner along with a dedicated Google Assistant button. For connectivity, the Mi Mix 3 5G supports 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The device ships on a 3,800 mAh battery along with Quick Charge 4+ support.
Pricing and availability of Mi Mix 3 5G
The Mi Mix 3 5G is priced starts at EUR 599 (approx. ₹48,300). The company has joined its hand with UK Three, Orange, Sunrise, Telefonica, Tim, and Vodafone. Moreover, the Mi Mix 3 5G will go on sale starting May this year through Authorised Mi Stores, Mi.com, and select retail stores.
Other Xiaomi Announcements
The company has also announced the Global launch of the Mi 9 which was unveiled early this month in China at the pre-MWC conference and the pricing of the device for the Global market starts at EUR 449 (approx. ₹36,200). Pre-orders for the Mi 9 already started in Spain via Authorised Mi Stores, Mi.com, Cdiscount, Darty, and Fnac.
Furthermore, the company also unveiled the Mi LED Smart Bulb at its pre-MWC conference with a price tag of EUR 19.9 (approx. ₹1.600), and that will be available in White and colour options.
