Qualcomm is currently letting the users experience the performance of Snapdragon 845 with a Qualcomm Reference Design Platform before it’s launched in mobile phones.
The chip uses new CPU core designs which are based on Cortex-A75 and A55. There are four of each in the processor, but they are no longer split into two separate clusters. This is the first SoC to support DynamIQ, which allows for a finer voltage/frequency control.
The previous gen included max frequency of 2.47GHz while the Snapdragon 845 supports max frequency of 2.8GHz. Apart from this, it shows improvements in both integer and floating point tasks. The Snapdragon 845 chip is built on a 10nm LPP process, which should allow for slightly higher clock speed for similar power usage so the real world difference is more highlighted.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 will be the fastest processor till date in Android Smartphones.
