The Taiwanese semiconductor company MediaTek is working on a chipset based on 6nm architecture for the upper range of smartphones. Now we have more details about the upcoming chipset and it seems to be quite impressive. Without wasting any time let us check out the specifications and features of the upcoming chipset.
Titled, MediaTek MT6893 the chipset will have an octa-core design with 4x high-performing Cortex-A78 Cores and 4x high-power Cortex-A55 Cores. Among the four high performing cores, one has a clock speed of 2.8GHz and the other three has a clock speed of 2.6GHz. Meanwhile, the four high-performance cores will have a clock speed of 2.0GHz each.
Judging by the Geekbench scores it performs better than Dimensity 1000+ Soc and has the same frequency of the newly announced Exynos 1080 Chipset. It is worth mentioning that the chipset can go to a clock speed as high as 3GHz. Mediatek might reserve the higher clock speed for a more boosted version of the SoC. Based on the Geekbench listing, the MediaTek MT6893 SoC has a single score of 4108 and multi-core score of 11,024. These scores were achieved when a smartphone running on Android 11 with 8GB of RAM was tested.
According to the rumours, MediaTek MT6893 will be released before the end of the year to be used in smartphones released in the following months. Mediatek seems to have found its game as the recently released Dimenity Series SoCs including Dimenity 700 SoC is highly anticipated. This could give the already announced Samsung Exynos 1080 SoC to be featured in Vivo smartphones.
